I could claim they were always going to be the same story, but that's simply not true. Wayfarer was started because someone asked me to write a fantasy story. Hammer and Axe started because I liked the phrase "Hammer and Axe" and as I walked to lunch one day, my ankles were popping and my elbows cracked as I stretched, and I thought "I'm gettin old ..." which became Hammer's first line.
